Inspired by the beautiful Sintra landscape, and particularly the Convento de Capuchos, an ancient Fransiscan Convent dating back 500 years, which i walked to daily from my mountain house during the composition of these pieces. Allowing the music to unfold as I walked . . every footstep a kind of prayer, a melody, a feeling. Imagining the monks of that time, how they lived, how they experienced life, the dedication and devotion.

I was so honoured when Sofia Nystraand offered to rework this piece . . she whispers words from my ancester Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poems echoing the fact that he died at sea, aged only 29. Her re interpretation is utterly devastating, on many levels.
‘CHILD’ album released 2023
‘CHILD’ was released in Spring 2022. An album of lullabies and simple, haunting child like melodies inspired by the birth of my first grand daughter. I had just moved to Sintra in Portugal, we were coming out of lockdown, life seemed unbearably precious.

SONGS OF POSSIBILITY, ALBUM 2022
Like so many others 2021 and 2022 forced huge changes in my life .. I spent many hours out walking alone, trying to absorb and adjust to them. I tried to avoid desperation, and focus on all the myriad possibilities in life. Making this 11 track album was a huge part of my process, . . alchemy at work . . you can practically hear my brain turning things over!
Racing to Belong single from ‘SONGS OF POSSIBILITY’ 2021
RACING TO BELONG is the first single from my forthcoming album Songs of Possibility, release 22:04:21. Written in Spring 2020, when the implications of lockdown were first being felt, I was keenly aware of how vital it is to us as both human and animal beings to have a sense of belonging, to feel part of something, to be recognised and accepted by a group.

‘A PLACE THAT EXISTS’ album 2020
A PLACE THAT EXISTS was released in May 2020. This album was inspired by all the wild and unspoilt places that I know, particularly the moorlands of Scotland where I spend a lot of my time. I love to think of these places, especially when troubled or racing in my busy life. They put things back in proportion for me.
